Fracture & Dislocation

Fracture & Dislocation

While bone fractures usually occur after trauma in young patients, they usually occur due to osteoporosis in older patients. While bone fractures are generally more easily treated in young patients, fractures can be life-threatening for patients over the age of 65. Bone fractures are of two different types: closed fracture and open fracture.

Fracture Symptoms

  • swelling formation,
  • Ecchymosis due to bleeding under the skin,
  • Formation of deformities,
  • Severe pain during movement

How to Treat Fractures?

Fracture treatment may vary depending on the patient's age, the area where the fracture occurs, and the severity of the fracture. Fracture treatment can be done by casting, or different treatment methods can be applied by the doctor depending on the condition of the patient and the fracture.

Dislocation Causes and Symptoms

Dislocation may occur due to trauma, osteoporosis, sudden and adverse movements. However, dislocations in the body may also develop due to congenital causes or chronic diseases.

Dislocation Symptoms

  • severe pain,
  • limitation of movement,
  • Pain and strain during movement,
  • Bruising in the area where the dislocation occurred

How is Dislocation Treated?

Different methods can be applied for dislocation treatment, depending on the patient's age and the dislocation area. In cases where the dislocation harms joint health, surgical intervention is required. Dislocation treatment must be done correctly to prevent damage to the ligaments and nerves within the joint.
