Arthroscopic Surgery

Arthroscopic Surgery

Arthroscopic surgery is the visualization of joints through a camera by making one-centimeter incisions. Arthroscopic surgery, used for diagnosis and treatment, plays an important role in the treatment of diseases related to knee, shoulder and hip joints. Arthroscopic surgery, which allows patients to accelerate their recovery process and make the surgery more comfortable, is performed under anesthesia and in the operating room.

Surgeries performed with arthroscopic surgery take an average of 20 minutes to 120 minutes. In arthroscopic surgery, the operation is performed by making 2 or more incisions on the patient's body. In some surgeries, arthroscopic surgery can be used inside the joint, while open surgery can be performed outside the joint. Arthroscopic surgery can be used in the diagnosis and treatment of all diseases related to large joints.

Areas Where Arthroscopic Surgery is Used

Arthroscopy can be used to diagnose and treat many joint-related diseases.

  • Repair or removal of meniscus tears,
  • Treatment of problems related to articular cartilage,
  • intra-articular biopsy,
  • Treatment of movement restrictions that occur after trauma or surgical operation,
  • Bone tissue or cartilage transplantation,
  • Treatment of intra-articular fractures,
  • Treatment of recurrent dislocations,
  • muscle tightness

It can be used in surgical operations related to the knee joint, especially the knee joint.
